Grünhof site, Zurich: High-quality living in the heart of Zurich

Allreal has developed, planned and realised a new build in the inner courtyard with 80 rental apartments and a replacement building on Badenerstrasse with eight rental apartments and 244 square metres of commercial and office space on the Grünhof site covering 7,000 square metres in Zurich’s district 4. The redevelopment of the site created 11,400 square metres of new living and working space in the city of Zurich.

Renovation of the inner courtyard properties, which were built at the beginning of the 19th century and used only for commercial purposes, would not have paid off. Allreal therefore commissioned the renowned firm of architects Max Dudler Architekten to carry out a development study for the inner courtyard in 2013. Allreal carried out a competitive study contract for the replacement building at Badenerstrasse 131, with the Hauser Meier architects winning the contract. Arc Architekten were commissioned directly for the renovations at Badenerstrasse 119 and 123.

In terms of architecture, great importance was attached to ensuring that the inner courtyard and the properties on Köchlistrasse and Badenerstrasse are harmoniously integrated into the district. The clever structuring of the development results in a network of diverse inner courtyards, giving the location the atmosphere of an urban oasis. The green, atmospheric courtyards form the framework that unites individuality and urban community in one district.
